E4DS raises money to ensure educational excellence in Dexter Community Schools. Thanks to the generous donations of local residents and businesses, E4DS donated $150,000 to DCS since 2016.
DCS used these funds to launch math and science programming for Grades 3 - 6 for 2016-2017. By popular demand, Peter Smith and Cheryl Wells (2 retired DCS teachers) returned to work with children throughout the week.
In addition, DCS used these funds to send the entire sixth grade to the campus of Eastern Michigan University for EMU Explorer's Camp, a week-long experiential learning opportunity. They participated in sessions which ranged from aviation to theater to Python programming to interior design. Many children described this as one of the best weeks of their education!
